Made especially for the classroom, this economical general purpose clay is suitable for handbuilding or wheel throwing at 50 mesh. Red school clay fires to a rich, natural, iron red colour. Recommended to bisque fire in an electric kiln to 1050℃ and can be glazed from 1080-1250℃. This clay needs high firing temperatures if vitrification is required. Shrinkage rate Bisque 8%. Earthenware 9 %. Midfire 10%.
