For addition to colour, oxides or underglaze powders to give fluid brushing consistency.
Waterbased sealant will waterproof clay after applicatin of several layers. Can be used on Paper Clay and Air Dry Clays.
Dispex is a deflocculant used in casting slips, often used in conjunction with Sodium Silicate. It comes as a liquid and sold by weight. Dispex aids suspension of a casting slip making it dense in minerals with little water.
Latex is used as a masking fluid. After application the liquid latex will set and dry. Latex should be peeled off and disposed of prior to firing. Use PPE as latex may cause irritation.
Liquid pure soap is used as a mold release when producing plaster molds. Thin with water.
Sodium silicate is mainly used as a deflocculant in casting slip. It can also be applied to the clay for a surface treatment. It is a liquid sold by weight- not volume.
Wax emulsion is used to prohibit glaze from bisque fired clay. Use on lids, galleries and bases of ware.
